Our Wagyu ///

We started operations in 1985 as a farming company leaning on agricultural production. As dreams and opportunities presented themselves, we started breeding cattle in 1990. The superior marbling breed known as wagyu was introduced into the herd in 1999. Now, with one of the largest registered wagyu herds in the United States to date, we utilize nearly 3,000 head of cattle for F1 production. Our total wagyu herd is comprised of 100% black with a few cows having 3% or less red wagyu genetics. Of the 1,000 wagyu’s in our operation, two-thirds of that is registered as pure bred animals. Our Process ///

Our process is simple, take care of the animals often and early. This process all starts with our calves. Before the calves are weaned off their mothers they are given several shots with a combination of preventative and immune building components. This allows the calves to stay healthy and strong through the seemingly vulnerable ages. Calves are left with their mothers for up to 135 days allowing them to receive necessary vitamins and minerals from their mothers milk. After 60 days with their mothers, feed consisting of soy hull pellets, corn gluten feed pellets, oat hull, corn, and vitamin mineral are made available for supplemental calories for the calves. This high caloric diet supplement provides the necessary energy to increase intermuscular fat cells for superior marbling and to keep the calves happy and healthy. Upon reaching the necessary age for weaning, calves and their mothers are taken through a “fence line low stress” weaning process. This ensures that both the mothers and calves are given necessary time to adjust to the separation and minimizes the bodily stress that they both undergo. Within three weeks of weaning the calves are given a final vaccine to boost immunity at the time  they are placed in the feedlot. Read more…
